Kia ora from wellington!

I'm blogging from bed.....right after dinner with church ppl after d arise's christmas production :)

I finally understood why did He plan for this. Taking everything away, I finally have time to slow down, take a breather and enjoy the tiny things life has to offer. I guess this never happened in melbourne. Everyday is a schedule of to-dos, a rush from here to there.

It's time to put things into a slow motion and realise what is important. God and relationships with people.

Anyway, its almost Christmas and the Chrismassy season is in the air!! After spending two (gonna be) Christmases abroad, there's quite a difference between Christmas in Malaysia.

Christmas in Malaysia- go out with friends til late night to catch the fireworks and spray each other with those spray cans.

Christmas in Aussie/NZ - time for family, giving, spending the whole day at home eating *OMNOMS*, open houses.

I prefer the latter :) prolly that's because im growing old? :S

but....Christmas is the season where hearts are changed, wounds are healed and loneliness filled and that's the thing we shouldn't forget, the birth of Christ.

The production today was about how the world would be without Jesus and wow..its a pretty eye-opener. What else could I ask for? A great church, really nice colleagues, awesome new friends, and a really nice place to live! Thank you God, for You are soo soo good.

Reading other people's blogs inspired me to update mine. LOL.

I guess its the best place to write down my experiences so that I can come back and revisit them whenever I want. Right now, I have everything journal-ed from high school days to college days. And there's this black hole that sucked up my uni days. I should really work on it.

Yeah, I'm in 2nd year of uni now, fyi. ;)

Life aint very happening. I gave up frisbee, got more involved with studies, studies and studies. Yeah it practically took up my entire life. Doing tutes, never ending assignments and etc. Oh, i did attend quite a few parties this year though.

just a lil something, so you wouldnt forget how i look like. or rather, so I wouldnt forget how I look like, when i read this next year lol.

WINTER is gonna be the BOMBz :)

so many things coming up and I promise i'll reveal them in d next post (so that i'll actually write again). remind me if i dont. that's if anyone still comes here.

Ok, i should really continue studying for probability. 4 more days and i think i'll screw it up anyway. Hardest subject ever :( BOOHOOO. bye bye.

I think I am somehow inside a dark tunnel.

But at the end of the tunnel, it will be bright and sunny.

I somehow feel God is bringing me through a journey, making me learn a lesson I would not forget.

In these 2 months, I've actually been learning sooo much. Too much...as compared to what I've been learning for the past 20 years of my life. How ironic :)

One of those great lessons.....learning to honour my promises despite any circumstances that will stand in my way. He'll provide :)

As a result of honouring my promises, i ~~get this picture~~ managed to kick off the unnecessary stress because He provided ;) ask me personally what is it heee.

Cant wait for MOAR! :)

Right before my first paper (macroeconomics), I was so restless! I covered d whole syllabus but i still din feel secure. So..i made all my friends prayed for PEACE.

Rounds : 1 round each hour.
Pay : $23.66/hr

I complete each round in 20 mins.
leaving me with 40 mins to stone/ go online/read lecture notes.

Well, i cant remember when was i last being spontaneous here in melb, except for d karaoke session the other day.

in Msia, random/spontaneous is my middle name. malacca, seremban, etc etc...all were spontaneous.

i guess its d workload here. too busy. no time to spare. no time to blog.
but i've realised something, spontaneous is possible, i just need to be willing to do it!

we went into the water. it was COLD but bearable :) started to enjoy it hehe.

It feels good to finally have my old life back.

As in, the times when I do not need to worry about spending at all, when I get to buy anything I want.

For the past 10 months, my cashflow has been pretty tight XD
thanks to unigames.

In one of the urban life few weeks ago, Nicky made us write a note...things about what we want to see to come to past. I wrote a coupla things but I still remember one of them is to :

Believe in the Lord to provide for Unigames.

I didn't wanna worry about where is the money is gonna come from.
Didnt want it to bother me all the time.

Right now, I would like to TESTIFY that IT HAS COME TO PAST!

I totally blew the budget of $1500 and spent ard $2000 for Perth. Ate like mad without thinking, traveled like mad - spent none of that from the JPA allowance (so taxpayers, dun worry XD). But....surprisingly, things are all good after that trip. God has been blessing me abundantly.

For these 10 months, I've been surviving without my parents sending a single cent and I think....I've finally made it :) I've passed the test! After 10 LONG months! That constant worry about my expenditure every week is gone! He is indeed our Jehovah Jireh!

Now, it's time to trust for more things! It would be awesome to have everything that I've wrote on the note to come to past. I'm pretty excited!

you know, sometimes i feel bad for skipping a routine.....

i find it hard to breath, so suffocating that i think i need some time for myself.

time flies, doesnt it?
before i know it, semester 1 would be over.

i guess the updates wont be as frequent as it was when i was still back home, even though there are more things happening here.

things are taking place too fast for me to translate all of them into words and pictures in this blog. even so, i do post up about major events, just for me to remember them down the years.

life is good here. i love it very much.
but there are still things back in malaysia which i do constantly miss.

to be frank, i dont feel a slightest fear for my 1st uni exam.

i've been....bombarded with choices this week.

same problem that im always faced with.
too many things at one time.
24 hrs a day is definitely not enough for me =(

yeah if only i can split myself up into 3 pieces...ugh, i cant, and this is making me feel so irritated. the thing is, i'll have to make a choice EVERY week and i dont quite like that.

hopefully i wont burn out and quit everything.

ended up going for melb uni ulty (MUtation) training at royal park since it has been decided since ages. training is for australian unigames around september in perth i think. wahh, lets pray that i get to go for it!! =D

woke up exceptionally late at 10am.
had the right amount of sleep =)

3 hrs in uni and spent the rest of the day at home.
im starting to love spending time at my crib.
feels so good. rejuvenating.

completed my final calc assignment!
and watched la vita e bella, sum oscar award winning italian movie.

cooked dinner and cleaned my house.

i love sundays.

starts off with breakfast @ mcds, then CHURCH!
sermon is getting shorter and shorter for me and i dont know why.

it used to seem forever and i always fall asleep in the middle of it.
nowadays, i dont seem to get enough of it.

i think God has been trying to reveal more things to me and i encountered Him in the middle of worship today. staying in His presence is indeed very delightful and i didn't want it to stop.

hopefully He'll speak to me again regarding sum issue that im pretty concerned about.

this week was suppose to be the through of my academic semester but it didnt turn out so!
i was starting to take things as chores and wasnt too excited to face the week but God planted a verse and a few lines from previous sermons during church last week.

and i emceed (even though its a pretty small crowd) and lead bible study(first time evah!) in ocf.

really didn't know how that happened as 24 hours IS too short for preparations towards all of those.

Thank God for strength, wisdom for time management and the joy to complete all of the tasks! =D

my landing is still pretty bad. not used to jumping suddenly while im running. i cant even take a few steps to stop my momentum sigh. ulty still d best.

intervarsity tourney is next month.
d only reason im playing netball ---> to represent the state of victoria to d MASCA games in canberra!!!! canberraaa!!! canberraaaaa!! woots.

NEWS : Jessica Yong is going for OCF Camp during Easter.

2-5 April in a land far far away.

i duno why but im getting a lil emotional about the whole CF thing.

CF started from HELP, went for the one in high school but....yeah, din quite like it HEE.

cg gathering.

i've met lotsa awesome people, especially my AWESOME cg leader, timothy wong. i mean....yeah, he was always there for me when i needed some spiritual boost, or whenever im down. things got a bit rough when i was about to leave for inti, and there he was.

new chapter of cf started in INTI.
at first, i started comparing ICF with HUCCF as i wasnt quite used to ICF yet. i preferred the old, reluctant to embrace the new. however, i started to grew quite attached to it after a few coupla weeks.

icf =) and i think i noe like 85% of the ppl in the pic.

cf took up most of my time in inti, besides ultimate frisbee. most of my closest friends in college were from cf and i would say that it was one of the best/most fun times in my life. i think that's because all of us place our trust in the Awesome God =) yea, seriously. first time i had semua christian friends lol.

ICF in IntiBall.

icf was where i met my awesome awesome cg leader, charles chan =) he helped me with my assignments (hehehe), threatened to keep my laptop, and always take fugly photos of me. my photography teacher too =) of course he was there whenever i needed to talk as well =) =)

even though i attended about 2 outta 10 cgs (the paling MIA member), i was still pretty attached with my cell members hehe. its the outside fellowship that counts.

cf-ers do many more other things besides attending cf.

cyber cafe-ing, badminton-ing, frisbee-ing, supper-ing, dining hall-ing, captainball-ing. (including alvin and eric too)

last but NOT least, the porks. from L-R : bigpork, gaypork, skinnypork, sepetpork, minipork.

i think i miss those times with them d most =( travel semua tempat together. makan together. supper together. frisbee together. badminton together. cf together. sleep together (@ chern's hse lol), prank ppl together, celebrate birthdays together. sigh.

1.5 years in ocf has indeed made me felt too comfortable.
its time to leave the comfort zone.

i slept pretty early i think.

on normal occasions, i wud have ran to d lecture theater which is at d FURTHEST side of uni. no joke. FURTHEST.

but, im half paralysed and din wanna run. so yeay.
checked for another lecture and d next lecture was held at 11am.
only thing i worry abt...is d lecturer.
mine was Antoinnette Tordesillas who ROCKS btw. slow and clear and precise.

darn takut i'll be lost with d new lecturer.
however............

when i stepped into d 11am class, i saw a familiar face.

after LONNGGGG consideration, i chose those 3 cos i think it will benefit me most, unlike taking chinese instruments (cant help much). it mite still change though hehehe.

days pass pretty quick here and i think im suffering from short term memory loss. did lotsa things these past 6 days and hopefully im able to recall.

day 1 - touchdown in melbourne city

met jia yuan and checked in to my place at bouverie close and then im off to open my bank account and shop for some neccessities.

my first meal here. its korean. its super nice.

u get lotsa variety here. chinese, indian, thai, vietnamese, korean, japanese, greek, french....anything! you name it, you've got it! price? CUT THROAT. everytime X3. minimum price - $8.

1am - checked out hari and jay's accommodation @ arrow and unilodge. it was freezing! (now darn panas though).

1st breakfast.

eric came over to surprise jay.

blame it all on d excessive walking. somehow, im getting fatter though =(

oh chocolates are also one of d MAIN factor for my weight gain. pigging out on them everyday. oh, the timtam sudah makan habis. so, not in pic HAHAHA.

after washing up, i walked to jia yuan's place to tolong him+ friend pindah rumah.

1) they dont clog. (can run nicely)
2) they dont scold.
3) i dun feel pressured playing resulting in better throws and catches.
4) even though i dropped a gazillion times during d first few mins of game, they still threw to me. belum warm up =.=
5) THEY THROW D DISC TO ME.
6) they dont say, ''ur throws suck la. ur catches suck la.''
7) dun have banyak turnovers cos of sucky throws. turnovers were caused by Ds.
8) I PICK UP D DISC MANY TIMES DURING TURNOVERS and they din ask me to leave it.
9) they tell me when my stalling was too fast.
10) they dont SCOLD or give TULAN face when u make mistakes.
11) they very chillling.
12) i caught a gazillion times, assisted a few times, scored a few, D a few. NICE MOU!

pretty much a failed day for timon and me AHAHAH.

1) mid valley was SOO JAMMED today for no apparent reason.

3) it was FRIGGING jammed from field to ss2 for dinner.
4) couldnt find for parking.
5) when i got down d car to lookout when timmy was parking, it started raining heavily.
6) when i got in the car, the rain stopped. *insert swear word pls*
7) as i slammed d door close, the rootbeer that was hanging by the door got stucked!
8) the whole car smelled of rootbeer (sry tim!)
9) rootbeer spilled into d plastic bag. (we poured it back into the cup and gave it to d owner HAHAHAHA. laughing like sial while doing it. shhhh)
10) it was 10.40pm. i was confident that federal highway is clear. it was jammed. KILL ME.

so long ever since i wrote anything about ultimate frisbee.
i think that's because my ulty growth has been nil, dormant, unprogressing.
and im not happy about it.

went back to inti with joann for pickup today.
that made me realise that my stamina has dropped beyond what i've expected and im so gonna die in sat's tourney. i mean, all the girls must have been progressing like SIAL adi, and i am still the same old me.

marking joann for one point made me gasp for air, as if im a fish thats outta water.
HOW LA ON SATURDAY.

pretty upset when joann went, ''hey jess, what happened la. why are u playing below my benchmark?'' then she started to tell me the stuff i did wrongly and advised me to get my head in the game.

that's the reason why i love having her around.
to tell me how to improve.
to make me realise my mistakes.

im a lil disadvantaged here. gold medallist for sprinting (uh, joann).
how la? i was just a hopeless, unatheletic high school student.
that means, double the work that needs to be done.
same line : run harder, jump higher, throw better.

however, pretty satisfied with today.
it was quality play compared to previous pickups.
'D'ed twice, scored once, mini layout-ed once and other insignificant throws.

been so long since i've set myself a target, just as what joann told me to do before leaving d other time. time to reflect.
